Carrots: An excellent source of vitamin A and are great for your dog’s eyes, skin, teeth and coat.


Pumpkin: A super food that is packed with healthy soluble fiber that aids digestion, vitamins to boost the immune system, is a natural cancer fighter and even supports urinary tract health. Pumpkin is a great source of vitamin A, beta-carotene, potassium and iron.


Pumpkin Cookies for Dogs Recipe


What you’ll need: Cutting board, rolling pin, blender or mixer.



  • ½ cup of cooked oatmeal
  • 2 cups of rice flour
  • 1 cup of grated carrots
  • 1 cup canned pumpkin puree, not pumpkin pie filling
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1/4 cup of flour for dusting your rolling pin


Directions: Preheat oven to 350 degrees Blend applesauce, carrots and pumpkin until smooth. Mix oatmeal and rice flour together in a mixing bowl. Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients and gently mix to make cookie dough. Flour your cutting board and place dough in the middle and roll into ¼ inch thick. Use cookie cutters to cut cookies. Place cookies on a greased cookie sheet and bake at 350 degrees for seven minutes. Turn cookies over and cook for an additional five minutes. Remove from oven and cool on your baking rack.
