9 Easy Dog Ice Cream Recipes Just In Time For Summer

During the hot summer months, we all love a cold, tasty treat.  It’s no different for dogs.  We’ve collected these drool worthy ice cream for dog recipes so that the next time you decide to indulge, your best friend can have some too.

1. Peanut Butter and Banana Frozen Yogurt

This recipe will make extra for you to freeze and treat later. 

  • 4 cups of plain, low fat, Greek yogurt.
  • 3-4 ripe bananas
  • 1 cup all natural peanut butter, no sugar, no xylitol or artificial sweeteners

Toss all the ingredients into the blender.  Mix well.  Put in serving size containers or ice cube tray.  Freeze and treat as desired.

2. PB&J Frozen Yogurt

  • 1 small , ripe banana
  • ½ cup all natural peanut butter, no sugar, no xylitol or artificial sweeteners
  • 1 cup low fat plain, low fat, Greek yogurt
  • 5 strawberries or 10 blueberries

Puree strawberries or blueberries and set aside.  Mix the rest of the ingredients in the blender.  Mix well.  Put in serving size containers or ice cube tray.  Swirl strawberry or blueberry puree into the mix. Freeze and treat as desired.

3. Pumpkin Frozen Yogurt

  • 1 cup of plain, canned pumpkin
  • 1 cup of plain, low-fat Greek yogurt
  • Dash of cinnamon

Mix all ingredients in the blender.  Mix well.  Put in serving size containers or ice cube tray.  Freeze and treat as desired.

4. Strawberry Banana Frozen Yogurt

  • 10-12 strawberries
  • 1 ripe banana
  • 1 cup of plain, low-fat Greek yogurt

Place all ingredients in the blender.  Mix well. Put in serving size containers or ice cube tray.  Freeze until desired consistency and treat as desired.

5. Oatmeal Banana* Frozen Yogurt

  • 1 ripe banana
  • 1 cup cooked oatmeal
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 cup plain, low fat Greek yogurt
  • *for fun variation, add cooked apples or berries

Place all ingredients in the blender.  Mix well. Put in serving size containers or ice cube tray.  Freeze until desired consistency and treat as desired.

6. Maple Bacon Frozen Yogurt

  • 1 ripe banana
  • 1cup plain, low fat Greek yogurt
  • 1 splash of maple syrup (all natural, no sugar free, No xylitol)
  • 3 crispy cooked bacon slices

Break bacon into bits.  Mix the rest of the ingredients in the blender.  Stir in bacon bits.  Put in serving size containers or ice cube tray.  Freeze until desired consistency and treat as desired.

7. Bacon and Peanut Butter Frozen Yogurt

  • 1 ripe banana
  • 1cup plain, low fat Greek yogurt
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter (all natural, no sugar free, No xylitol)
  • 1 splash of maple syrup (all natural, no sugar free, No xylitol)
  • 3 crispy cooked bacon slices

Break bacon into bits.  Mix the rest of the ingredients in the blender.  Stir in bacon bits.  Put in serving size containers or ice cube tray.  Freeze until desired consistency and treat as desired.

8. Berry Sherbet (dairy free)

  • 1 cup fresh or frozen mixed berries, or berries of your choice
  • ½ cup of cold water

Mix water and berries in the blender.  Put in serving size containers or ice cube tray.  Freeze until desired consistency and treat as desired.

9. Coconut Carrot Freeze (dairy free)

  • 12 oz coconut milk
  • 1 cup peanut butter (all natural, no sugar free, No xylitol)
  • 1 cup grated or pureed carrot
  • 1 splash pure maple syrup (all natural, no sugar free, No xylitol)

Mix the ingredients in the blender.  Put in serving size containers or ice cube tray.  Freeze until desired consistency and treat as desired.
