How to measure your dog for a Fur Saver Collar:

Using a fabric tape measure, measure around the largest part of your dog's head, then add 2-3 inches. Select the fur saver size that is equal to or larger than this measurement. Fur Saver sizes are based on the overall length from the end of the ring to the end of the other ring.

The design of this training collar is quite simple. It is made up of a chain with 1/9 inches (3.0 mm) link diameter and two O-rings with the Herm Sprenger quality stamp. One end ring has a chain going through it, the other doesn’t. The end ring without the chain going through is the end for a leash attachment.

Smooth links effortlessly run through the O-rings creating a loop, which can be easily slipped over the dog's head; The collar acts as a choker when the leash is attached to the live O-ring; Attaching the leash to the dead ring transforms the choker into an ordinary neck collar.

Lightweight and electro-welded links offer strength and durability; Long links are well suitable for long and fine fur.

Have gotten my female GSD back after recuperating from my knee replacement surgery, and have enjoyed using it. When I put it on her in the mornings for the first time of the day, I tell her it is 'her necklace' and she sits down while i put in on her, then connect her leash to it. Think she likes it more than she did her regular choke collar use, before my R leg broke and my surgery. Believe she is a happier dog now that I am using it on her. Still have a rugular collar on her which is used for her Rabies and the City's Dog Registration tags.

Great collar for long haired dogs

The collar is much lighter than the previous ones I have bought (only 3mm) which I thought might be too light for my German Shepherd but it works beautifully. Does not get caught in his hair and looks very elegant on him.
