Description

The GAPPAY Modular Training Dumbbell is a professional training tool designed to develop a dog’s retrieve, hold, and carry skills during obedience and working dog training.

Made from high-quality beechwood, this dumbbell is tasteless and odorless, helping prevent chewing and encouraging a clean, firm grip during retrieve exercises. Beechwood is commonly used in training dumbbells because it provides durability while maintaining the proper feel for the dog’s mouth.

The dumbbell features a modular design, allowing the end plates and center bridge to be removed and replaced if they become worn. This helps extend the life of the training equipment and makes maintenance easier compared to traditional fixed dumbbells.

This training version also includes two rope handles attached to the ends. These ropes act as handles to facilitate tugging with the dumbbell for drive building and proofing, helping trainers increase engagement and motivation while teaching the retrieve.

This dumbbell is commonly used for:

  • obedience retrieve training
  • IGP / IPO preparation
  • building drive and engagement
  • teaching proper hold and carry behavior
