5 Pumpkin Ice Cream Recipes For Dogs
Fall and pumpkin go together like a leash and a collar and since pumpkin is a delicious healthy food that is great for dogs, we’ve put together our favorite pumpkin ice cream recipes so your dog can enjoy some of this incredibly nutritious super food too!
Pumpkin Yogurt Ice Cream
Ingredients:
- 1 cup of plain unsweetened yogurt
- 1 cup solid packed pumpkin puree – not pumpkin pie filling
- 2 chicken livers
Directions: Bring a small pan of water to a boil with the chicken livers. Reduce heat and simmer 8 minutes. Drain water and let livers cool. When cool chop finely and combine with yogurt and pumpkin. Spoon mixture into an ice cube tray and freeze.
Pumpkin Berry Ice cream
Ingredients:
- 1 cup of plain unsweetened yogurt
- 1 cup of solid packed pumpkin puree – not pumpkin pie filling
- 1//2 cup of frozen whole berry cranberries or strawberries
Directions: Pour all ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth. Or you can mix in a bowl and mash up the berries. Spoon mixture into ice cube trays and freeze.
Pumpkin Coconut Ice Cream
Ingredients:
- 1 cup of plain unsweetened yogurt
- 1 cup of solid packed pumpkin puree – not pumpkin pie filling
- ½ cup of coconut butter
Directions: Add all ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth. Pour into ice cube trays to freeze.
Pumpkin Peanut Butter and Coconut Ice Cream
Ingredients:
- 2 cups of solid packed pumpkin puree – not pumpkin pie filling
- 1 cup of peanut butter
- ¼ cup of light coconut milk
- 1 teaspoon of Knox Gelatin
- 2 Tablespoons of pumpkin pie spice
Directions: Heat ¼ cup water in a saucepan, add gelatin and stir until gelatin is dissolved. In a mixing bowl combine pumpkin, peanut butter, coconut milk mixture and pumpkin pie spice and stir until mixed well. Add to an ice cream machine or place in a container in the freezer and take out every half hour and blend in a blender. When solid scoop out to serve.
Pumpkin Banana Ice Cream
Ingredients:
- 3 bananas
- 32 ounces of plain unsweetened yogurt
- 1 cup of solid packed pumpkin puree – not pumpkin pie filling
Directions: Pour all ingredients into a blender and blend together. Spoon into ice cube trays and freeze.
